Pill Day
Do you absolutely HAVE to begin the birth control pill on Day 1 of your period or can you start later?
Just asking cuz I’m on Day 3 and I got the pill a few days ago and forgot to take it Day 1. Why is it important to start on Day 1 anyway? Will it make a huge difference if I start today (its the first Sunday after beginning my period, like the package says) – I just don’t understand what the importance is??
You can start birth control at any point in your cycle. If you start during the first five days of your cycle, it is effective immediately. If you start at any other point in your cycle, it is effective after seven days. This is called the quicksart method.
